Santa Pola Allocates €12.5 Million

Santa Pola’s 2025 budget is set to finance 49 projects, following an increase in the local property tax (IBI). The municipal government has announced that this budget will enable ambitious developments across public services, infrastructure, and community facilities, marking one of the most substantial investment plans in recent years.

The investment chapter is the most ambitious in recent years, with an allocation of €12,578,000, more than double that of 2024. Among the most notable projects are:

Remodelling of El Palmeral: Improvement of public spaces and green areas.

Educational and sports infrastructure: Construction and renovation of schools and sports facilities.

New facilities for the Policia Local: Provision of resources to improve public safety.

Administrative modernisation: Implementation of new technologies to optimise municipal management.

Improvements to basic services: Expansion of gardening, street cleaning, beaches, waste collection, and sewage systems.

The municipal government has stressed that these investments are aimed at improving quality of life for residents while supporting sustainable growth. Special attention is being given to public areas and green spaces, reflecting a long-term vision for the town’s urban environment. In terms of education and sports, the budget prioritises the construction and renovation of school buildings and sports facilities, allowing both students and the wider community to benefit from improved infrastructure. By investing in local education and leisure amenities, the town aims to foster community engagement and encourage healthy lifestyles.

For public safety, the Policia Local will receive new facilities and resources, reinforcing security and emergency response capabilities. Modernising administrative operations will improve efficiency in municipal management, offering residents better access to services and a more streamlined bureaucracy. Basic services are also being expanded, including enhanced street cleaning, waste collection, gardening, and beach maintenance, alongside improvements to sewage systems. These measures are expected to improve daily life and create a cleaner, safer, and more appealing environment for residents and visitors alike.

The 2025 budget represents a strong commitment by the Santa Pola authorities to invest in both long-term development and immediate needs, balancing modernisation with tradition. By funding 49 projects, the municipality is aiming to ensure that local infrastructure, public services, and community wellbeing are aligned with the growing demands of the population.
