The Gators have buckled against their two best opponents of the season, first falling to previously unranked South Florida (18-16) in Week 2 and last week being held to 10 points in a road loss to No. 3 LSU (20-10). Sloppiness has been costly with a minus-1.00 turnover margin (No. 108 in the country) and middling results across the board on offense. However, if a game of keepaway is what it takes to beat a superior opponent Saturday night, ranking No. 5 in the nation in time of possession (35:29) could be a good start.
