Great British Bake Off fans make the same 'complaint' only minutes into biscuit week

The Great British Bake Off returned with a nail-biting second episode of the new series, marking biscuit week in the iconic white tent. The much-loved Channel 4 reality show , hosted by Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding, made its eagerly awaited return last week (2nd September), introducing the nation to 12 fresh-faced bakers. Regrettably for Hassan, his journey was cut short as he was the first to be sent packing. Following on from cake week, it was crunch time in the kitchen on Tuesday evening (9th September) as the bakers tackled three challenging biscuit-based tasks in a bid to win over judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood . Nadia had a tough time in the signature bake, with her biscuits being under-baked, and the judges felt she needed more matcha, while Pui Man had a bit of a disaster in the technical challenge with her hobnobs looking rather worse for wear. However, fortune favoured Pui Man as she crafted a ‘floating restaurant’ inspired by her life in Hong Kong for the showstopper, reports Gloucestershire Live . Ahead of the final challenge, the judges pinpointed Pui Man, Aaron, and Leighton as potentially facing elimination. However, it was Leighton who became the second contestant to bid farewell to the Bake Off tent. Meanwhile, Tom clinched the first Hollywood handshake of the season as Alison announced him as the star baker. Despite a dramatic week in the tent, Bake Off fans were left frustrated by the excessive number of commercial breaks during the recent episode, with many arguing it was “worse than other years.” Turning to X, one viewer questioned: “Dude why’s there so many b****y ads #GBBO.” Another declared: “#GBBO What’s with all the ads? I’m sure it’s worse than other years.” A third added: “Ok these ads are taking the p*** now #GBBO.” “More ads than content #GBBO”, remarked one fan whilst another shared the frustration and posted: “The ads are annoying me now #gbbo.” Great British Bake Off airs every Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4
