Structured academic sessions, skill-based workshops, and simulated case discussions marked Pterion 2025, the Medical Academic Conclave hosted by Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
The two-day event on the theme: Empowering Future Healthcare that was organised by undergraduate students with a focus on elevating the standards of medical education and enhancing future patient safety culminated on Saturday.
Describing the event as a premier academic event, the organisers said activities took place simultaneously in 18 halls involving enthusiastic participation of over 550 medical students from across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice, Pterion 2025 placed a strong emphasis on enhancing surgical and medical management skills essential for delivering optimal patient care. The program, organisers said, equipped future doctors with practical tools to approach real-world healthcare challenges with confidence and competence. Dean M. Geethanjali said.
Under the guidance of Vice-Principal Prof B. Sujatha and other senior professors, 50 experienced faculty members, along with 120 undergraduate and 30 postgraduate students conducted high-impact sessions covering a wide spectrum of clinical disciplines and emerging innovations in medicine.
The organising committee expressed pride in fostering a culture of peer-led learning and collaborative knowledge-sharing. “Our goal was to provide a holistic academic experience that sharpens clinical acumen while keeping patient safety and ethics at the forefront,” said one of the lead student coordinators.
