NFL star Devontez Walker has weighed in on Bill Belichick’s controversial relationship with Jordon Hudson and provided a surprising take on the matter.

Belichick, 73, has been enjoying a fresh chapter of his career after taking on the head coach role at UNC – but it’s his relationship with Hudson, 24, that steals headlines.

She has long-served as Belichick’s de facto publicist and is rarely far away from the legendary coach – which some have suggested could soon hinder the Tar Heels.

However, Ravens wide receiver – and former UNC star – Walker has suggested that she’s ‘good for him’, as long as the relationship doesn’t affect results.

Speaking to TMZ, he said: ‘I think it’s a little crazy but the love is there! I don’t have nothing against it. It seems like she’s good for him. He loves her. She loves him.

‘As long as they bring in wins and don’t let that stuff affect the program!’

The peak of Hudson’s ‘distraction’ came earlier this year when she appeared front and center of a CBS interview the football coach was on screen for.

The 24-year-old repeatedly interrupted the interviewer’s questions to stop Belichick from fielding questions about how they met.

The fallout led to friends of Belichick publicly discussing an intervention, while others questioned his sanity and if Hudson was taking advantage of him.

Then, in August, two podcasters claimed they spoke to Hudson over the course of a week in several phone calls that left them with a growing sense of unease.

They were trying to get Hudson to appear on their show but talks broke down, with Hudson allegedly shouting and crying over how the podcasters had previously spoken about her.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, former Patriots star Julian Edelman suggested Belichick was being hypocritical – given he used to tell his stars to avoid distractions.

‘Everyone has their life outside of the sport. What he always told me is that we had to eliminate distractions. So, I don’t know. You could take what you want with that,’ he told PEOPLE.

‘I remember getting yelled at for being a distraction, so I think we’re all in the business of eliminating distractions. That’s just from what I learned from him.’

While Hudson was in the stands earlier this month as UNC were trounced by TCU in Belichick’s first game, the Tar Heels have bounced back since that 48-14 defeat.

They beat Charlotte 20-3 last weekend and took down Richmond 41-6 at the start of the month as Belichick earned his first home win with the school.

Hudson was spotted on the UNC sideline once again as North Carolina won in commanding fashion.

She had made a cameo appearance on the sideline prior to UNC’s opening loss to TCU but held off last week in Charlotte.

Last weekend, she was seen posing for photos with her 73-year-old boyfriend before the game and engaging with various well-wishers during warmups.

UNC will be away from home this weekend when they travel to face Central Florida.
