UPDATE:The Kansas City Chiefs have officially ruled out Worthy, and he will not travel with the team. The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot to work out regarding their offense, and now it appears things will be a bit more complicated for Week 3.More news: Report: Dolphins Owner Has Made up Mind on Firing Mike McDanielHeading into an important Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants, the Chiefs are currently 0-2/. A third loss in a row could spark major concerns about the team being able to make the postseason. With Patrick Mahomes being the leading rusher, and the passing game also getting off to a suspect start, there is plenty to be concerned about regarding this team. To make matters worse, it appears that star receiver Xavier Worthy will not be suiting up once again.According to Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini, Worthy is not expected to play in Week 3.This is not shocking, as Chiefs head coach Andy Reid dropped a cryptic update on the receiver on Friday, stating that “we will see,” regarding his chance to play.More news: Vikings’ Carson Wentz Has Strong Words on Taking Over for JJ McCarthyWorthy suffered a shoulder dislocation at the beginning of Week 1, following him running into Travis Kelce. The result of the hit was Worthy falling hard to the ground on his shoulder. The good news is Worthy was not placed on IR, and has not yet gotten surgery to correct this matter. Surgery was talked about by Reid, but the young receiver may have avoided the kind of damage that would require a procedure to fix.Either way, Worthy not being in the lineup will give the Chiefs another hurdle to get over. They are also facing a 0-2 Giants team that will be just as hungry to get a first win.Worthy had a respectable rookie showing, putting together 638 yards and six touchdowns. He was meant to be a cornerstone of this new Chief offense, but he has yet to step on the field since his injury. In his stead, Mahomes has linked up with Hollywood Brown, Kelce, and Tyquan Thornton. Still, losing a speedster like Worthy has clearly impacted the passing game in a big way.Worthy could be ready to go in Week 4, though his injury continues to be nagging in a way that he will presumably miss his second game in a row.For more on the Chiefs and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
