Divya Tanwar hails from Nimbi, a small village in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district. Her father passed away in 2011, leaving the family in financial distress. The entire responsibility of the household fell on her mother, Babita Tanwar. She supported her four children by working as a farm laborer and sewing clothes. Tanwar began her education at the village government school. Her hard work and dedication led to her admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV). There, she studied diligently and with discipline. In 2021, Tanwar took the UPSC exam for the first time. She scored 751 marks in the written exam and 179 marks in the interview, achieving a total of 930 marks. Tanwar aspired to become an IPS officer, so she persisted in her preparation and retook the exam in 2022. This time, she achieved 834 marks in the written exam and 160 marks in the interview, totaling 994 marks. Consequently, she secured an All India Rank of 105.
