'End of an era' - punters react to sudden closure of Moseley pub

Punters have declared ‘the end of an era’ as a Birmingham bar once named the ‘best sports pub in the UK’ prepares to call last orders. One Trick Pony Club in Moseley – previously praised for its ‘brilliant vibe’ and great pub grub – will close on Sunday, September 21. The Alcester Road venue, popular with sport fanatics, announced its sudden closure on social media on Friday evening (September 19). Sunday will be our final day. “We want to thank all of you who have joined us over the years. “Myself and the team will take many fond memories of this pub with us and we hope you do too.” The post attracted several comments from disappointed customers, including one who said: “This is so sad, so many great memories.” Another wrote: “I loved my visits there. Good luck to all the team.” A third replied: “Very sad times but shows how much the country’s hospitality is struggling. BirminghamLive understands a deal is in place for a local independent firm to take over. One Trick Pony Club has been approached for additional comments.
