The Andhra Pradesh Tourism department has rolled out a promotional campaign in the run-up to the Suryalanka Beach Festival, scheduled to be held from September 26 to 28, 2025, coinciding with the World Tourism Day on September 27, highlighting this year’s global theme — Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.
A statement issued by the department of Tourism said as part of the initiative, students from universities across Andhra Pradesh will stage flash mobs between September 20 and 24 at high-footfall locations in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Guntur, Rajahmundry, and Hyderabad. The campaign aims to engage youth, spread awareness on responsible tourism, and showcase the State’s cultural vibrancy, the statement said.
Institutions such as SRM University, Nagarjuna University and Koneru Lakshmaiah Deemed to be University (KLU) are participating in the campaign, while more universities are expected to join. Student performers will be felicitated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during the World Tourism Day celebrations at Suryalanka Beach on September 27.
The Suryalanka Beach Festival 2025 promises a spectacular mix of adventure and culture, from water sports, beach games, cultural performances, and celebrity concerts to houseboat rides, cashew farm tours, local seafood feasts, palm toddy tastings, and backwater explorations. The event is set to become one of Andhra Pradesh’s flagship tourism showcases, drawing visitors from across the State, neighbouring Telangana, and beyond.
