English commentator hails Mohammed Kudus for Tottenham’s future success

Mohammed Kudus has been backed by an English commentator as one of the players capable of lifting Tottenham to the next levelThe Ghanaian star, alongside another summer recruit, has been described as having the X-factor to transform Spurs’ attackKudus will now be hoping to end his goal drought when Tottenham face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday

Veteran English commentator Ian Darke believes Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons have what it takes to push Tottenham Hotspur to the next level.

The pair joined the Lilywhites this summer and have already shown signs of transforming Thomas Frank’s side.

Kudus, Simons backed to take Spurs to new level

Speaking to Tottenham News, Darke praised Kudus as an “excellent” addition who offers tactical flexibility and can slot into different roles in attack.

He was equally impressed by the creativity and spark both recruits bring to the team.

“I think he [Kudus] is a very good signing. I think he’s an excellent player, a good signing, and a versatile player as well. But he’ll play on the left if necessary, but they’ve got other options out on the left,” Darke explained, as quoted by YardBraker.

“They’ve got a few options, but I think Simons will find his way in the team most weeks. You would think so. And he and Kudus give them a little bit more of an X factor.”

Darke is not far from right, as Tottenham have begun the 2025/26 campaign in impressive fashion, securing four wins from their opening five games across competitions.

Their attacking fluency and defensive resilience have caught the eye, even if they stumbled against Antoine Semenyo’s AFC Bournemouth.

His energy and pressing, attacking vision have made him an instant fan favourite.

According to Transfermarkt, the Ghanaian international has already recorded two assists in as many appearances while contributing tirelessly on both ends of the pitch.

Simons, who arrived from RB Leipzig, has also made an immediate impression.

On his debut against West Ham United, he created an assist in a convincing 3-0 win, demonstrating his ability to fit seamlessly into the squad, Sky Sports reports.

Kudus relishes upcoming Brighton clash

As the season unfolds, Kudus and Simons will be eager to stay consistent against heavyweights like Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

For now, their focus turns to Brighton, who visit on Saturday, September 20.

The fixture holds special significance for Kudus, who enjoys a flawless record against the Seagulls in the Premier League.

The Ghanaian has scored twice in two outings against them, per StatMuse, and will fancy his chances of adding to that tally as Tottenham aim to extend their strong start.
