South Korean actress Son Ye Jin is finally making her return to the screens after a hiatus of nearly three years. She had put her acting career on the back burner to focus on her marriage and her baby boy, born in November 2022. Now, with her new film, No Other Choice, ready for release, she is not only making her comeback to the big screen but also sharing a heartwarming peek into her life at home.
On September 18, Son Ye Jin joined her co-star Lee Byung Hun and director Park Chan Wook at the 30th Busan International Film Festival Actors House, held at Sohyang Theatre Shinhan Card Hall in Haeundae-gu, Busan. During the event, the Crash Landing On You actress was asked whether she and her husband, actor Hyun Bin, discuss work at home. While she mentioned that she usually keeps her professional and personal life separate, she went on to share a hilarious anecdote that left everyone in stitches.
“I don’t really talk about work with my husband,” the 43-year-old actress said as quoted by Sports Chosun. However, Son Ye Jin recalled a rare moment when she did bring a script to him. She shared, “Sometimes I’d ask him to run lines with me. Initially, when the scenario for this film (No Other Choice) came to me, it was called The Axe. I asked him to check out the script.”
Son Ye Jin Reveals She Rebuked Hyun Bin For Not Reading The Script Properly With Her
The Something in the Rain actress then revealed that she would even rebuke her husband for making a mistake. “When we read lines, if he makes them weird, I even scold him, ‘Do it right! Is this all you can do? He laughs. I don’t know why we’re like this,” she said, making the audience laugh too.
Son Ye Jin also spoke about the quiet understanding between her and her husband. She shared, “You may be surprised, but we don’t talk much about work, especially him. We also don’t ask where the other person has been or if the filming was difficult. We can tell just by looking at each other’s faces.”
