One of Robert Redford’s most iconic films is now available for streaming on Disney+. The esteemed Hollywood figure and pioneer of the Sundance Film Festival sadly passed away in his sleep on Tuesday morning at his home in Utah. His publicist, Cindi Berger, confirmed via Deadline: “Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah, the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. “He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy.” The legendary actor was 89 years old at the time of his passing, reports the Mirror . In the wake of such a significant loss to the world of cinema, film enthusiasts are likely to turn to streaming platforms to revisit his most memorable performances. Fortunately, one of his most acclaimed roles in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is currently available on Disney+ at no additional charge for subscribers. The 1969 film, directed by George Roy Hill, received seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won four awards for cinematography, screenplay, score and song.
