Tourist destinations often see a mix of cultures and interactions between locals and visitors, some of which can go viral for unexpected reasons. While most encounters are harmless, certain moments capture attention online when they seem awkward, funny or controversial. Now, an Indian man’s interaction with two Korean tourists at India Gate in New Delhi has drawn significant criticism on social media.
The short clip, shared on Instagram, shows the man approaching the women as they walked around the monument. “Hello, excuse me, my dream, punch… punch…,” he said, seemingly trying to ask for a fist bump.
What Followed Next Was ‘Embarassing’
Confused, one of the women responded, “You want to punch me?” The person recording clarified, “Fist bump,” after which they obliged.
The man then put forward his “other wish”, to hug the woman. One of them eventually agreed and gave him a brief hug. As he walked away, the man said, “You are so cute. I love you,” and extended his hand for a shake. The women laughed off the interaction.
“Indian local meets Korean girls,” the caption read.
