Police Recover Stolen Goods Worth Over $70K
Police have recovered more than $70,000 worth of stolen goods following a series of burglaries in Hamilton Parish.
A police spokesperson said, “On Monday, June 29, 2025, officers from the Criminal Intelligence Unit, commenced an investigation into a reported burglary at an address on My Lords Bay Lane, Hamilton Parish.
“During the course of the investigation, Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit along with officers from the Police Support Unit, executed a search warrant at an address on Wilkinson Avenue, Hamilton Parish, where all the stolen items were recovered.
“The officers also recovered items linked to two other burglaries committed at an address on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish on Saturday, April 18, 2025 and Saturday, July 5, 2025.
“The items stolen during the three burglaries included building supplies, furniture and various construction tools and equipment, all with an estimated value of just over 70 thousand dollars.”
Detective Chief Inspector, Jason Smith, officer in charge of the Specialist Investigations Unit said, “It was thanks to the assistance of members of the public that police were able to so quickly recover the stolen items. Were it not for the information provided, this investigation could well have become protracted. This is yet another example of what can be achieved when you support your police service by coming forward and telling us what you know about crimes that have been committed or suspicious activity you may have witnessed.”
The spokesperson said, “The investigation into these matters remains ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information but who has not yet reached out to us, to please do so by contacting Detective Sergeant Seymour Foote on 717-2282 or, via email sfoote@bps.bm.”
