The Egypt-Spain Business Forum kicked off in Cairo on Thursday in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and King Felipe VI of Spain, on the sidelines of the King’s current visit to Egypt.
Madbouly affirmed that elevating the relations to a strategic partnership with Spain marks a new phase in bilateral ties.
He expressed happiness at opening the forum’s activities with the participation of the King of Spain.
Addressing the forum, Madbouly said that King Felipe VI’s visit to Egypt provides an opportunity to confirm the commitment of the two friendly countries to develop and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially economic, investment, and development domains.
He added that the historic meeting held in Madrid in February between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reflected the depth of relations and resulted in upgrading relations between the two countries to a strategic partnership.
This marks the beginning of a new phase in the distinguished relations between Egypt and Spain and provides a practical framework to translate this partnership in a tangible way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.
Madbouly also pointed to the wide steps Egypt has taken in economic reform and infrastructure development over the past years, which have had a practical impact in removing difficult obstacles to economic growth and attracting foreign investments.
Issuing the required legislations was one of the most prominent steps, he highlighted.
