Mirai Box Office: Teja Sajja’s Film Sees A Dip On Day 4, But Crosses Rs 50-Crore Mark

Teja Sajja’s latest action entertainer Mirai has been grabbing attention from movie lovers. Directed by Karthik Ghattamneni, the fantasy action film opened well on its release day and surprised many by showing strong growth over the next two days. Many believed the film was on its way to becoming a steady box office performer. But when Monday arrived, the movie saw a major fall in collections. Despite the sudden dip, the film has still managed to achieve a big milestone by crossing the Rs 50-Crore mark in total earnings.
Teja Sajja’s Mirai Crosses Rs 50 Crore Despite Monday Dip
According to Sacnilk, Sajja’s film earned Rs 6 crore on its fourth day and now, its total box office collection stands at Rs 50.6 crore. On Monday, the film had an Hindi occupancy of about 11.14 per cent and around 35.72 per cent in Telugu. Despite the dip, evening and night shows in both languages saw good footfalls, indicating that audiences were still interested in catching the film after its initial release.
Mirai had a powerful start at the Indian box office as it earned Rs 13 crore on Friday. Collections grew to Rs 15 crore on Saturday, showing a 15.38% rise and further climbed to Rs 16 crore on Sunday. The Hindi version performed steadily as it earned Rs 1.65 crore on Day 1, Rs 3 crore on Day 2 and Rs 3.5 crore on Day 3. The Telugu version also had collections in double digits each day.
Teja Shares How He Landed The Role In Mirai
Ahead of the film’s release, Teja Sajja, in an interview with OTTPlay, shared how Mirai happened following his work in Hanuman. He said, “Post the success of HanuMan, my director Karthik Ghattamaneni approached me with Mirai. He briefly narrated the story and started pointing out all the difficulties we would face while shooting the film. He had so many doubts and listed them one after the other, and I later understood that he was testing whether I was willing to go the extra mile and give the time this project required. The moment he stopped, I told him that Mirai would happen, exactly the way he had dreamt it.”
Other than Sajja, Mirai also stars Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak and Shriya Saran.
