Iowa vs. Rutgers: Game matchup
Iowa rolls into Piscataway as a tight 1.5-point road favorite for a matchup with an over/under of 45.5 points between teams with reputations for stout defense and iffy offense. However, the Scarlet Knights have come out of their shells, at least through the non-conference slate, by averaging 461.0 yards per game, which ranks No. 36 in the country.
The Scarlet Knights are also unbeaten (3-0) and looking to take that run to another level by knocking off one of the Big Ten’s core teams led by coach Kirk Ferentz. Rutgers has thus far handled Ohio (34-31), Miami of Ohio (45-17) and Norfolk State (60-10) in jumping out to their 3-0 start. Iowa is 2-1 with wins over Albany (34-7) and UMass (47-7) and its lone loss to CyHawk rival Iowa State (16-13).
The game is set for an 8:00 p.m. ET start on FOX. Live streams are available from FuboTV (free trial), DirecTV (free trial), and Sling (low intro rate).
