Chris Moyles launches Wrexham rant after Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac's club ignored him

Chris Moyles has launched a rant at Wrexham AFC after being ignored by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac ‘s club. The former Radio 1 DJ has hit out at the Championship outfit after officials failed to respond to a request for him to broadcast live from their home stadium. Moyles is taking his morning Radio X show on tour next week to celebrate its tenth anniversary and was hoping to stop off at the Stok Cae Ras along the way. However, speaking live on air on Tuesday morning, the 51-year-old revealed no-one from the Red Dragons had got back to his producers, despite repeated attempts to make contact. The Chris Moyles Show will instead be broadcasted from the nearby Turf pub, made famous by the Welcome to Wrexham documentary , next Tuesday. Moyles said the snub came despite him giving repeated plugs for the Disney+ series on his radio programme and club director Humphrey Ker twice making an appearance . He also lamented the fact that Wrexham’s Hollywood co-owners were unlikely to feature on the show. “We are going to be in Wrexham, and we are going to be near the very famous Wrexham Football Club ground,” said Moyles. “We will have some very special guests joining us live. Have you heard of Ryan Reynolds? Some of our guests have but it’s not him. “Do you know the other person who owns Wrexham, Rob McElhenney? He also won’t be on the show because, and this is true, no-one from Wrexham Football Club has actually got back to us. We’ve had people from that club on the show in the studio and we’ve promoted the living bejesus out of the club. “But we’ve contacted the club, and we haven’t even heard anything back. Instead, we’ll be doing the show from the pub. If anyone’s listening who lives in Wrexham and knows someone who works at Wrexham Football Club, can you just drop them a message and ask them to get in touch with us. That’d be great. “We have plans and fantasies of becoming best friends with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. Sadly, as nobody’s got back to us, that’s not happening.” Addressing two senior figures at Wrexham directly, Moyles added: “Humphrey Ker, where are you? You’ve been on the show twice, you big lummox. You big lanky man. Oi, Shaun Harvey, from your time at Leeds United, have you not heard us plugging Wrexham and bigging you up?” Wales Online understands Wrexham’s hectic summer schedule, which included a pre-season tour of Australia and New Zealand, along with overseeing the recruitment of 13 new players, took priority over the request. The North Wales side spent approximately £33million in total on bringing in fresh faces during the recent transfer window after gaining promotion from League One in April . Welsh international trio Danny Ward, Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore were among the new arrivals. All three were named in Wales boss Craig Bellamy’s latest squad ahead of the international break. However, Ward and Broadhead were forced to withdraw due to injuries . Moore scored the only goal as Wales beat Kazakhstan in their World Cup qualifier in Astana last week. The former Sheffield United striker made history in doing so, becoming the first Wrexham player to score for the national team since Chris Llewelyn in November 2006. Speaking in a post-match interview with the BBC , Moore said he was “relieved” to get the win. “It’s safe to say we were on the back foot second half, but to get the three points, we needed that for the team and the campaign,” he said. “I’m extremely proud, to mark this occasion [his 50th cap] with a goal and a win is something I’m proud of.”
