Big Brother's youngest ever winner and where he is now years later

Cameron Cole became a Big Brother legend in 2018, scooping up the crown in what was believed to be the final series at just 19 years old.

The much-loved reality show has made a comeback on ITV, with fans eagerly awaiting the third season set to premiere on Sunday, September 28th.

Cameron captured hearts nationwide during his stay in the famous house, earning heaps of support from viewers and housemates alike after bravely coming out as gay, marking one of television’s most poignant moments.

In a heartfelt chat with Metro, Cameron shared that prior to his public revelation, only his best mate was in the know, and he’d penned letters to his family, which he still keeps.

He admitted he was worried about how his news would be received by the other contestants and the public, but was met with an overwhelmingly positive response instead, reports the Mirror.

Speaking to the outlet, he said: “Once you come out on TV, you can’t really do it again. I just don’t even think about it now because there’s no point hiding it. It is out there everywhere, and for that, I’m very grateful. [If I hadn’t done it] I probably wouldn’t have been living my true life which is never obviously a good thing.”

Cameron clinched the £100,000 prize in what he describes as an “accidental” victory, confessing to host Emma Willis that he hadn’t planned what to do with the money as he “hadn’t really thought that far ahead”.

Where is Cameron Cole now?

Post-Big Brother, unlike stars such as Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson, Cameron chose to step away from the limelight and lead a more private life.

He studied psychology in London and was in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend whom he met in the city, though he remains tight-lipped about his personal life.

Reflecting on his rise to fame from Big Brother, Cameron celebrated the fifth anniversary of his win in 2023 with an Instagram post.

Sharing throwback photos from his time on the show, he penned: “I cannot believe it’s been 5 years since the best 53 days of my life. I’m still so grateful to have done something as life changing as Big Brother. I lived my dream, and it never disappointed.”

Continuing, Cameron said: “I’m so glad Big Brother is back and that I won’t be the last winner forever. I’ve loved this series so much and can relive it in a way I hadn’t been able to.

“I can’t explain how much I miss big brother and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t miss the house, housemates and absolutely everything it entitled, the BB voices, the task, diary room, chats, laughs the whole f*****g thing.”

He added: “That said I’m so f**king glad I got to spend 53 days of my life with you, if only it was more. So happy more people can now live it too with BB being back. Love you always BB and I’ll forever miss you.”

Big Brother 2025 returns on Sunday, September 28 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
