World Championship medalists in boxing, weightlifting, and canoe and kayak rowing received the President’s gift, a BYD car, along with cash prizes, the National Olympic Committee reported.

The awards were presented by the President’s Sports Representative, Odil Abdurahmonov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, and the First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Otabek Umarov.

Eleven medalists of the World Boxing Championship held in Liverpool in September this year, weightlifting World Championship medalist Ruslan Nuriddinov from the Bahrain event in December 2024, and Arthur Guliyev, gold medalist of the canoe and kayak rowing World Championship held in Milan, Italy, in August this year, along with their coaches, were awarded the President’s gifts.

It has been reported that the following cash prizes were awarded to athletes who won at the competitions:

Gold medalists – $15,000
Silver medalists – $7,500
Bronze medalists – $3,750

Coaches received half of these amounts as cash prizes. In addition, gold medal winners were presented with BYD Song Plus Champion cars, while silver and bronze medalists, along with their coaches, received BYD Chazor vehicles.

It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan national team won a total of 11 medals at the World Boxing Championship held in Liverpool: 6 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.
