Brad Everett Young dead: Grey's Anatomy star dies in car crash at 46

Hollywood actor and photographer Brad Everett Young has died in a car crash in the US.

The actor was involved in an accident on the 134 Freeway. His publicist confirmed that he succumbed to injuries sustained when his vehicle was hit by another car travelling in the wrong direction on the high-speed road.

The actor died at the scene, while the other driver was taken to hospital.

Young was a familiar face in Hollywood, working behind the scenes on projects with Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The Hollywood Reporter. He had photographed celebrities such as David Harbour, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seth Green, among others.

In front of the lens, Young made appearances in popular shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Boy Meets World and Charlie’s Angels.

He was also the founder of Dream Loud Official, an initiative committed to reinstating music and arts education in schools across the country, promoting creativity as a vital part of learning.

His publicist Paul Christensen told The Hollywood Reporter: “Brad’s passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” adding that he had “lived his mission” by keeping the arts alive, reports the Express.

Tributes have been pouring in for the late legend, with Chris McKenna, who portrays Jack on General Hospital, sharing a collection of photos taken by Young on his Instagram. “These were taken just a couple weeks ago by the late @bradley206 we won’t see another like him,” he said.

A fellow General Hospital actor, Parry Shan, wrote: “Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity.”

He also mentioned that Young declined payment when photographing him and consistently sought to champion his career, along with many others.

Heartfelt tributes have flooded in from admirers of the photographer, with one user posting on X: “A lovely man who was respectful to fans and the celebrities whose pictures he took. Such a tragedy, such a loss. I pray for comfort to his family and friends. RIP Brad Everett Young.”

Another commented: “Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brad Everett Young, Brad passed away Sunday night following an automobile accident he was so nice! He will forever be remembered for his work as an event photographer for all the stars and his work as an actor and screenwriter.”

The actor leaves behind his brother, Chris.
