Kaieteur Sports – The 2025 Igloo Ice Cream–Sunshine Snacks National Juniors Hockey Tournament continued to deliver high-octane action on Wednesday evening at the National Gymnasium, as Old Fort and SHC Sensations secured easy wins on Day Two of the season.
In some Boys’ Under-21 action, Old Fort routed GCC Outlaws with a commanding 7-0 victory. Star forward Shaquon Favourit was unstoppable, scoring an astonishing six goals to dismantle the Outlaws’ defense and earn his team their first win of the tournament. Favourit netted goals in the 2nd, 8th, 9th, 14th minutes, and added a double strike in the 16th minute to cap off a standout performance. Simeon Moore added the seventh goal, sealing the clean sheet.
In the Women’s Open category, Saints and GBTI GCC played to a tightly contested 1-1 draw. Kairya Scott opened the scoring for Saints, but Rebecca Ferreira equalized for GCC to ensure both teams shared the points.
The Men’s Open division saw two thrilling encounters. Old Fort produced a stunning offensive display to defeat GCC Spare Parts 9-3. Dominique Allen opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, but GCC’s Devin Hooper responded in the 10th to make it 1-1. What followed was a relentless goal-scoring spree from Old Fort, with Favourit, Daniel Woolford, Jason de Santos, and others overwhelming GCC’s defense.
Favourit, continuing his strong form, added another to his tally, while Woolford, Quinn Todd, and De Santos rounded off the scoring. Despite late goals from Jason Ray Khalil and a second from Hooper, GCC couldn’t stem the tide.
In Game 12, Bounty GCC edged out Saints in a competitive 5-3 match. Mark Sargent led the charge with a well-earned hat trick, while Dwayne Scott chipped in with a brace to secure the win.
