Kaieteur Sports – The Petra Organisation has received a significant boost from one of its committed partners, Sterling Products Limited, in support of the upcoming 12th Annual Courts Optical Pee Wee Boys’ Under-11 Football Tournament.

In a simple yet meaningful presentation ceremony held yesterday at Sterling’s head office in Providence, East Bank Demerara, several key stakeholders were present. These included Sterling Products CEO Ramsey Ali, Marketing Manager Dellon Lynch, Public Relations Officer Youlandra McCammon, and Petra Co-Director Troy Mendonca, underscoring the importance of this longstanding co-sponsorship.

The tournament officially kicks off on Saturday, September 27, at the Ministry of Education Ground. This year’s event will feature 32 teams from across regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10, competing in a round-robin format. Teams will be grouped in sets of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the Round of 16.

Prizes will be awarded to teams finishing in the top eight, while individual awards will also be up for grabs. Fixtures for the tournament will be released soon.

During the presentation, Marketing Manager Dellon Lynch shared his enthusiasm for the initiative: “Over the past five years, we’ve witnessed not just matches, but the steady growth of a programme that uplifts communities and helps shape the future of football in the nation. I want to remind our young players that the game is about more than just discipline and sponsorship—it’s about building character and developing skills.”

Lynch also took a moment to acknowledge the tournament’s legacy: “Many of our standout players from previous editions have progressed to senior teams and even represented the country at the national level. That’s something we are incredibly proud of.”

He concluded by reaffirming Sterling Products’ commitment: “Football has the power to connect neighbourhoods, build character, and open doors. That’s why we remain committed partners and look forward to many more years of collaboration with the Petra Organisation.”

CEO Ramsey Ali echoed this sentiment, reflecting on the partnership: “I’ve watched the Petra Organisation grow over the years—they’ve built a brand. And that’s the essence of this partnership: building brands, whether it’s a product, a service, or a youth development initiative. We are privileged to be part of this tournament, which brings real value to the players and the wider community.”

As the first whistle blows on September 27, a new chapter begins, one filled with skill, friendship, and determination. Every pass, every goal, and every tackle will tell stories of teamwork, growth, and the unifying power of sport.
