Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist, was killed in broad daylight on Wednesday, September 10. He was 31 years old. He was fatally shot while he held a public event at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback Tour. The prominent conservative commentator, who is known for his strong support of the MAGA movement, was rushed to a nearby medical facility but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Conservative host Megyn Kelly, who learnt about Charlie’s tragic death while hosting her YouTube show, The Megyn Kelly Show, struggled to hold back her tears. She broke down while reporting the shocking death of the founder of the youth activist group Turning Point USA on Wednesday. Joining her was Blaze Media CEO Glenn Beck, who was also visibly shaken by the news.

She said, “There are news outlets reporting the worst right now, Glenn.” Her voice breaks as she tries to report the news of Charlie Kirk’s death. “They are reporting that Charlie has died – that he’s dead, at the age of 31,” Megyn said with her voice breaking. Glenn was seen crying inconsolably after hearing the news.
“There’s no way he survived that … The only good thing is it had to have happened quickly,” he said while talking about the video that captured the fateful moment. Megyn, while trying to hold back her tears, told Glenn that the video showed that Charlie did not “suffer” and added, “He went down quickly”.

The video of Megyn and Glenn’s raw emotions went viral on social media, with many expressing their sorrow over the tragic incident. “I feel I’ve just been punched in the chest by a heavyweight boxer,” said one user.
Another added, “They didn’t want to say he is dead. They were waiting for some kind of hope about him being in surgery or something. But they knew he went down quickly and that was the only comfort they could deliver for us!”
“Seeing MK break down, knowing she is one of the most emotionally strong women in our culture, is absolutely heartbreaking. I can’t,” wrote a different user.

President Donald Trump officially confirmed Charlie Kirk’s death. He was survived by his wife, Erika Kirk, and their two young children: a daughter, Sarah Rose, born in 2021, and a son, born in 2023.
