Nobody convinced me — Arokodare proud of Wolves decision after debut

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Tolu Arokodare has insisted he made the right decision by joining English side Wolves.

Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare has opened up on his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, revealing that he never hesitated to join the Premier League club to fulfill a long-held dream.

The 24-year-old forward completed his transfer from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk on deadline day, a move that followed interest from several other top clubs across Europe.

Despite a tough debut, Arokodare is convinced he made the right decision.

Making his first appearance for Wolves in their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday, the Nigerian striker was given a Premier League baptism. He started the match but was substituted after 66 minutes, and struggled to make a significant impact against the Magpies.

Arokodare made it clear that no one had to convince him to join Vitor Pereira’s side.

“When Wolverhampton became concrete, I didn’t hesitate for a second. No one had to convince me.

“Everyone also knew I absolutely wanted to go to the Premier League,” he told Belgian outlet HLN.

Wolves host Leeds in their next Premier League game, and Arokodare will be hoping to get off the mark for his new club, who have lost all four games to start the new season.
