Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates will mutually promote and protect investments. This is stated in the Presidential resolution ’’on the approval of an international agreement,’’ adopted yesterday, September 15.
According to the resolution, the agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on the promotion and protection of investments has been ratified.
It should be noted that this agreement was signed on January 15 of this year in Abu Dhabi, following the talks between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade has been designated as the authorized body responsible for implementing the agreement.
The Cabinet of Ministers, along with the heads of relevant ministries and agencies, will ensure oversight of the implementation of the provisions of this international treaty once it enters into force.
It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates also signed a Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership relations on January 15 of this year. In addition, an intergovernmental agreement on financial and technical cooperation, an agreement on cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment, as well as interagency agreements on cooperation in investments, industry and advanced technologies, justice, agriculture and food security, and mineral resources were signed. Furthermore, a memorandum on cooperation in the field of culture, an agreement on cooperation between diplomatic academies, and several other documents were concluded.
