EXCLUSIVE: Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom) and Heidi Engerman (Candyman) have joined season two of Netflix‘s Ransom Canyon as recurring guest stars in multiple episodes.
Filming is underway on season two of the romantic Western drama starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly. The show revolves around three Texas Hill Country ranching family dynasties locked in a contest for control of the land, and their lives and legacies are threatened by outside forces intent on destroying their way of life.
Set in Texas Hill Country, Ransom Canyon films in New Mexico at Netflix Studios Albuquerque, where Season one was based. The adaptation of Jodi Thomas’ books is part of Netflix’s “comfort entertainment” suite of series that also includes Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, The Lincoln Lawyer and My Life with the Walter Boys.
Also starring are Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada and Casey W. Johnson. Showrunner is April Blair. Exec producers are Dan Angel, Josh Duhamel, and Minka Kelly.
Up-and-comer Engerman is in post-production on feature … And Out Comes the Wolf with Giancarlo Esposito. The Candyman actress has also appeared in Chicago Fire, 9-1-1 Nashville, and The Bold And The Beautiful.
Robson is best known as co-lead of John Wells’ hit TNT series Animal Kingdom. The Vikings actor also starred in John Wick prequel series The Continental and recently joined the cast of Fox’s upcoming biblical series The Faithful.
