The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is inviting the public to participate in World Car-Free Day with free rides systemwide on Monday, September 22.
The agency is encouraging people to travel by bus or train instead of driving.

“Car Free Day is a reminder that transit is one of the most enjoyable and stress-free ways to get around,” MTA Holly Arnold said via a press release. “By choosing public transit over car travel, you help to improve our environment by reducing emissions and ease congestion on our roads.”
MTA said public transit, biking, walking and carpooling create cleaner air, safer streets and stronger communities.
