2XKO to get ranked mode this week, with the ranked season lasting until the closed beta ends

Riot Games’ fighting game, 2KXO, is in its closed beta period right now. Fans are slowly getting access to the game, and with the growing beta population, there’s plenty of room for a now-growing competitive scene, Come September 18, players will be able to participate in 2XKO’s ranked mode. To access the ranked mode feature, players will need to be at account Level 3 before being able to queue. This will give you an idea of the basics by that point, and you’ll know most of the core control features. If you’re interested, you can then queue for the mode and be matched against opponents. If a player wins a match, you can rematch up to three times to create best-of-three scenarios for those looking to try new strategies out against an opponent or counter-pick their playstyle if you have the depth. When you win or lose games, you’ll start getting placed. Here, you’ll get a ranked badge indicating your current ELO rating. It follows a very similar League of Legends approach, with players getting Aspirant, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, and Grandmaster. Each rank will have three different tiers in it, so you’ll need to move from Gold I to Gold III, for example, before your next jump, bringing you to Platinum I, for example. Each of these rank divisions will require 100 RP (Ranked Points) to progress through. The only exception to the rule is Grandmaster, where the top 500 players in Grandmaster are awarded the Challenger rating. For those who want to start their ranked journey, you’ll need to play five placement matches. Once again, if you’re a League player, you’ll be familiar with this system. You’ll likely start off in the middle of the pack; then, win or lose, your MMR will hyper-adjust until it finds your relative skill level, and you’ll begin your journey from there. You can even play 2XKO in a duo queue if you’d like, all the way up to Grandmaster. But, be warned, that Duo Queue will feed you slightly harder matches to balance out the coordination with two slightly better players than your average MMR as a duo. While in Closed Beta, players will only have a smaller-than-normal ranked season. When it comes to full release, seasons will be much longer, so expect some changes and announcements on that at some point in the future.
