A man has been charged in connection with the death of Scott Boyd after an incident in Lanark last month. On September 9 cops confirmed a 35-year-old was arrested and charged following the incident on August 17 on a street in Kirkmuirhill in Lanark. Scott, 30, was found seriously injured and tragically he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 35-year-old charged in connection with his death will appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on September 10. A spokesperson for the force said: “The 35-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Scott Boyd in Kirkmuirhill has been charged. “Around 4.45am on Wednesday, 27 August, 2025, we were called to a report of two men found injured in the Braeside Crescent area. “The 30-year-old man, Scott Boyd, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 35-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment but has since been released. “The man is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 10 September, 2025.” After the incident cops locked down the residential area as they placed a cordon round the scene. Forensics were spotted combing the surrounding streets as uniformed officers carried out enquiries. Major Investigation detectives then trawled through CCTV and carried out door-to-door enquiries as they try to piece together what happened. Earlier the Record told how tributes had poured in for Scott from heartbroken friends and family. Posting a picture of him and Scott hugging, one pal wrote on Facebook: “Can’t believe this. Love you always bro. See you on the other side. Back in the arms of your mum.” Another said: “Rest in peace Scott Boyd, only spoke to you last night. You were a cracking wee lad, such a tragedy this has happened. Now beside your mum together again. Condolences to Charlie, Wilma and family. Fly high with the angels bud.”
