Rwanda will host the 2025 UCI Road World and Para Cycling Championship between 21st to 28th September.
This is the first time that such a championship is being hosted on the African continent.
Uganda Cycling Association will ably be represented by a team of 11 members for the different categories.
This team was officially flagged off at the National Council of Sports (NCS) headquarters in Lugogo on Tuesday, 17th September by the assistant General Secretary in charge of technical matters Milton Chebet.
Chebet applauded Uganda Cycling for ability to get the team ready ahead of the championship.
“I salute you for preparing a team that will compete at the World Championships in Rwanda. I wish you the very best at this global event.” Chebet commented.
With Ugandan sports celebrating budgetary increments lately, Chebet rallied private entities to partner with federations and associations to ensure the funding gaps are filled for talent identification, development and exposure to flourish.
