When it comes to the best espresso machines, it can be hard to find a half-good option for under $500. Which is why we were so skeptical of the Casabrews Ultra — a $250 espresso machine with a PID temperature controller, smart LCD display, and shot timer.
And now, the Casabrews Ultra is $60 off at Amazon, making it just $189 right now. That’s an incredible saving that puts our top-rated budget machine under $200, when it looks (and performs) like a much more premium option.

Now 24% off at Amazon, the Casabrews Ultra’s design echoes much more premium machines from the likes of Breville and De’Longhi. It looks fantastic, and at $189, it’s one of the cheapest ways to get a good shot of espresso at home.

Now don’t get me wrong, while the Casabrews Ultra offers insane value, it’s not perfect. For a technically perfect machine, you’ll have to spend at least two times as much on the likes of a Breville Barista Express or De’Longhi Opera. But in our review, we were struck by just how much the Ultra offers for budding home baristas.
Where it falls down is its steam wand, which lacks the power of more premium machines. So keep that in mind if you’re someone who loves lattes and cappuccinos. While the lack of power will mean experienced home baristas may find the machine annoying to use, for those who, like me, are still learning how to steam milk, it can actually be quite useful. The slower steaming times enable you to texturize your milk without feeling overwhelmed. So even if you end up upgrading in a few years, this is a fantastic beginner-ready machine.
