A video featuring the previously obscure grandchildren of Ghanaian man of God, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has surfaced following his death.

The founder of the Kristo Asafo (Christ Reformed) Church reportedly passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Aside from his mission, Safo Kantanka, as he was widely known, was also an inventor, industrialist and entrepreneur and founded the Kantanka Automobile Company.

Apostle Safo’s death was confirmed in a statement released by his daughter, former Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP) Sarah Adwoa Safo, on Sunday, September 14.

“With profound sorrow and deepest grief, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church announce the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God, the greatest technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist, and industrialist popularly referred to as ‘Kantanka, the African Star’,” the statement read.

It added: “Apostle Safo was a true genius, the beacon of hope for many. His unique persona was shaped by his life struggles, dreams, resilience, courage, determination, and dedication to His calling and conviction.”

Apostle Safo’s grandchildren mourn at his home

Following his passing, friends, family members, prominent dignitaries and members of the Kristo Asafo church have convened at Apostle Safo’s home at Taifa to mourn him.

Former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Elipklim Akurugu, comic actor Kwasi Boadi Akrobeto, and fashion entrepreneur and style icon, Richard ‘Osebo’ Brown, have all visited the home to extend their condolences.

The entire Safo family have also shown up, made up of the late Man of God’s numerous children and grandchildren, as well as cousins and other relatives.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page Edex Jibril, Apostle Safo’s little-known grandchildren were seen walking at the home.

They appeared devastated by their late grandfather’s death as they made their way past another group of mourners at the Taifa residence.

The video stirred reactions on social media as Ghanaians praised the children for their elegance in the face of tragedy.

Before the appearance of his grandchildren, Apostle Safo’s children were also seen mourning the death of their father.

Politician Sarah Adwoa Safo was spotted in a video looking distraught, while Kwadwo Safo Jnr also expressed his grief through dancing.

Prophecy on Apostle Safo’s death surfaces

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that a prophecy about Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s death surfaced on social media following his tragic passing.

Ghanaian man of God, Prophet Amoako Atta of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel International, foretold the industrialist’s death in his sermon on August 31.

After Apostle Safo’s death was confirmed on September 14, Amoako Atta reposted the video as evidence that he was given the gift of prophecy.
