You can now buy Hisense’s mid-range 116-inch mini-LED 4K TV, because that’s a thing in today’s TV world

Home theater size, Dolby Atmos sound system, and a $22k price tag

Hisense’s largest QLED mini-LED TV yet: 116 inches
6.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos sound with Devialet tuning
Available for $21,999, but that’s mid-range for this kind of size

Hisense’s 116-inch mini-LED TV, the Hisense U75QG, is now available to buy in the US. Don’t confuse this with Hisense’s 116UX 116-inch RGB mini-LED TV – that one has a next-gen backlight and costs $25k-$30k depending on discounts.

This has a regular mini-LED backlight, and is intended to bridge the gap between Hisense’s mainstream and luxury TV lines, and it’s yours for just $21,999, available exclusively at Best Buy.
This is Hisense’s largest ‘ULED’ (which is basically its version of QLED) mini-LED TV to date, and it should sound as good as it looks: it packs a 6.2.2-channel sound system that’s been “co-engineered” with and tuned by Devialet, which is famed for its high-spec luxury speakers (including the just-launched Devialet Phantom Ultimate).

Hisense U75QG TV: big TV, big specification
The U75QG is a QLED miniLED 4K TV with Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine X processor, the same processor used in the firm’s ultra-premium UX models. It delivers AI-powered picture optimization, scene recognition and color management.

The TV has a 165Hz native refresh rate with Game Mode Ultra, variable refresh rate (including FreeSync Premium Pro) and auto low latency mode. HDR support spans Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+, and there’s a Filmmaker mode for the home theater fans this will surely attract. The TV features mini-LED Pro backlighting with over 3,000 dimming zones, and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness (though don’t expect that in Filmmaker mode).
That huge panel has been teamed up with a huge sound system, the aforementioned Devialet-tuned Cinestage X surround system. It supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The operating system here is Google TV with the usual universe of apps and free channels, and there’s voice control via Google Assistant and Alexa.

The U75QG is currently exclusive to Best Buy in the US, where it’s on sale for $21,999. Best Buy is claiming that’s a saving of $3,000 – although it’s unclear what exactly is being saved from where; nobody else is stocking it and that’s the manufacturer’s recommended retail price.
This might seem like we’re stretching the definition of ‘mid-range’ past its breaking point here, but remember that not only is there the pricier 116UX model just from Hisense, while micro-LED sets in the same kind size range come with six-figure prices. So this is a bargain really.
