Swansea City manager Alan Sheehan has bemoaned the timing of their trip to Birmingham City after a dramatic Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest. The Swans dumped Ange Postecoglou’s Forest out of the cup with a stunning 3-2 victory sealed by two stoppage time goals, including a 97th minute winner from Cameron Burgess. The match was played on Wednesday evening and although Sheehan made six changes to his starting XI from the weekend, Swansea were forced to put in a gruelling shift to beat Premier League Forest. They now have a rapid turnaround before making the long trip to St Andrew’s for a game that has been moved forward to 12:30pm for broadcast on Sky Sports. Blues, meanwhile, have had a free week to stew on their defeat to Stoke City after being dumped out of the Carabao Cup in the second round. “I think it’s getting our consistency now,” Sheehan began. “I think we’ve had a wonderful night tonight. “You’d love to enjoy it, but the minute this interview and all the rest of my media is over, we’ll be debriefing this and then we’ll be getting ready for Birmingham . “I think it’s just over 60 hours, which is incredible, but you guys make the timing of the fixtures. So we just obey it, if you want to say.” Everyday, the BirminghamLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and transfer-related stories as a part of our overall package of Birmingham City content.
