Paris Olympics bronze medallist Fred Kerley has become the first track athlete to join the Enhanced Games.

Currently on provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), two-time Olympic medallist Fred Kerley has joined the Enhanced Games, which allows athletes to use performance-enhancing drugs.

The American speedster becomes the first track athlete to compete at the Enhanced Games – the start-up sports event that will allow performance-enhancing drugs.

“I’m looking forward to this new chapter and competing at the Enhanced Games. The World Record has always been the ultimate goal of my career. This now gives me the opportunity to dedicate all my energy to pushing my limits and becoming the fastest human to ever live,” said Kerley.

The 2022 world 100m champion is currently provisionally suspended by the AIU for whereabouts failures or missing drug tests. He previously announced that he was planning to appeal the suspension.

In addition to appearance fees, the event is planning to pay out prize money and a $1,000,000 bonus if the 100m world record is broken.

The Enhanced Games was created by Australian businessman Aron D’Souza and will be held in May 2026 in Las Vegas. Other sports athletes publicly signed to the meet include Team Great Britain Olympic silver medallist Ben Proud, who announced his retirement from ‘traditional swimming’ in order to join.

It is expected that more athletes will join because of its his huge monetary reward.
