Mukhyamantri - Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana: Eligibility And Benefits

The Maharashtra government’s scheme is mired in controversy, regarding inclusion of ineligible beneficiaries. It occurred due to the absence of a verification process when the scheme was rolled out ahead of last year’s assembly elections.

The scheme aims to give economic freedom to women in the state age group of 21 to 65 years, improving their health and nutrition and strengthening their decisive role in the family. (File Photo)
Benefit: The eligible women will get a financial benefit of Rs 1,500 through direct benefit transfer (DBT). (File Photo)
Eligibility: The applicant should be a female resident of Maharashtra, between the age of 21-65. The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 2,50,000. Outsourced employees, voluntary workers, and contract workers with income up to Rs 2,50,000/- are also eligible. The applicant should have an Aadhaar-linked bank account. (File Photo)
The applicant can be married, widowed, divorced, abandoned and destitute, and a single unmarried woman in the family. (File Photo)
Documents Required: Photograph, Aadhaar card, domicile certificate, income certificate, marriage certificate (if applicable), bank account details, and affirmation letter. (File Photo)
