On 16 September 2025, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund received a delegation from First Atlantic Bank, led by Daniel Marfo, Executive Director, Business, James Abonney, Regional Head, Accra East; Chris Kan-Dapaah, Group Head, Energy Banking & Financial Institutions; and Ebenezer Akyeampong, Head, Corporate Communications.
Their visit was marked by a generous donation in support of the Fund’s mission to advance healthcare delivery across Ghana.
In his remarks, Marfo reaffirmed First Atlantic Bank’s unwavering commitment to initiatives that expand access to quality healthcare for Ghanaians.
He underscored that this donation is not only a demonstration of the Bank’s strong corporate social responsibility agenda but also a reflection of its belief that good health is a foundation for national development. He further assured the Fund of the Bank’s readiness to continue supporting future interventions in the health sector.
Receiving the delegation, the Administrator of the Fund, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed profound gratitude to First Atlantic Bank for its timely and impactful support.
She noted that the Bank’s contribution comes at a crucial time in the fight against chronic non-communicable diseases and would directly strengthen efforts to provide specialised medical care for vulnerable patients across the country.
Darko-Opoku also emphasised the vital role of corporate institutions in complementing government’s vision of building a resilient healthcare system.
She lauded First Atlantic Bank for setting an example of purposeful corporate citizenship and reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to ensuring that every contribution goes toward saving lives and creating lasting impact.
