Electronic Arts and all associated studios are opening up access to the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale platform, introducing players to an entirely new way to experience the developing title. We’re less than one month away from release, and fans are clamouring to experience this new mode, but how do you access the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale right now?
Below, I’ve outlined exactly how to play the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode, getting an exclusive look at the free-to-play mode that’s already turning heads.
Could this be the next best Battle Royale game in the first-person shooter space?
How to Access Battlefield 6 Battle Royale
To access the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale, you must be an active participant in the Battlefield Labs ecosystem. The Battlefield 6 Battle Royale isn’t available outside of that test environment, nor is it open to those with an EA Play subscription or prior access to the Battlefield 6 Beta.
In a recent blog post, Electronic Arts explained that testing for the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale platform will begin after September 10, and even if you register for Battlefield Labs after the go-live, you’ll be good to access the mode.
Here’s what the team said about the mode:
This week we begin testing a new addition to our Battlefield universe, a Battle Royale built on Battlefield’s unique DNA. The information and feedback from players in Battlefield Labs will be incredibly valuable in helping to refine and deliver this experience.
What Do We Know About the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale?
Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode features a never-before-seen map that accommodates 100 players split into 25 squads of four players apiece. As you can expect, it’s built around a ‘last team standing’ mechanic, just like any other Battle Royale game out there.
What differs in Battlefield 6 is the ‘ring of death’ feature. In this Battle Royale mode, it’s an insta-kill ring that shrinks as the game unravels, forcing players to adapt on the fly and avoid even touching the closing ring.
Tactical destruction is a thing in this Battle Royale mode, giving players all the trappings of chaos that they might already be used to from other Battlefield games.
And yes, local VOIP and proximity chat is a thing.
As players explore the large map, they’ll loot weapons and equipment split between five tiers. They’ll also complete ad-hoc missions that pop up, and will fight to keep their team alive using elements like mobile redeploys and air drops.
