Netflix took to Instagram to tease the upcoming release of a new murder mystery based on one of Agatha Christie’s novels. They shared a video of a typewriter and the words ‘Killer Queen’, with the caption ‘Agatha Christie is coming to Netflix ‘. While the name of the adaptation did not feature in the video, executive producer Suzanne Mackie previously announced it would be Seven Dials, based on The Seven Dials Mystery. She revealed in a statement: “I am excited to be bringing The Seven Dials Mystery to life, and to be introducing a new generation of iconic Christie characters to the screen. “It has been a joy to work with Chris Chibnall in creating this bold, authored, and ambitious vision for the series. Together with Chris Sussman and Agatha Christie Limited and, under the masterful direction of Chris Sweeney, we are thrilled to embark on this creative journey. “I could not think of a more exciting first project for Orchid Pictures, or a more perfect home for this story than Netflix.” The Seven Dials Mystery was published back in 1929 and has only ever been adapted once in 1981. It is set in England in the 1920s and, while at a lavish country house party, “a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong”. An unlikely sleuth, Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, takes it upon herself to unravel a chilling plot that will turn her world upside down. Mia McKenna-Bruce leads the cast as Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent, with other huge names like Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman joining. According to What’s On Netflix, other stars include Call the Midwife’s Ella Bruccoleri and Rivals star Guy Siner. As of September 2025, Netflix’s Seven Dials is in post-production with filming having taken place in Bristol in 2024. Fans of the book have taken to Google Reviews to share their thoughts, with Aryan Vats commenting: “Plot twist at the end made me make it five stars, throughout the whole story it was kind of slow pacing a little bit from my perspective, it took me three days to complete. “When I got hang of the story I didn’t stop and completed the whole novel in four or five days, love it.” Julie Turner shared: “Reread this many times. Plot first class. Great characters. Agatha at her best.” The Seven Dials Mystery will air on Netflix
