Glenn Hoddle names 'wonderful' Chelsea player who should be appreciated more

Glenn Hoddle was full of praise for Cole Palmer, but claimed the Chelsea star isn’t appreciated as much as he should be.
Palmer scored on his 100th appearance for Chelsea against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Blues from slipping to a 3-1 defeat.
The 23-year-old was arguably Chelsea’s best player on the night, and had a second goal ruled out for a marginal offside late on.
Glenn Hoddle praises Cole Palmer
Palmer missed Chelsea’s wins against West Ham and Fulham with a groin injury, but he’s now fit again and has scored in his last two games.
Despite the attacking talent on display at Chelsea, Palmer is still very much the jewel in the crown, and the player the Blue still look at to make something happen.
Palmer has 74 goal contributions in 100 Chelsea appearances, and at £40m is one of the best signings Chelsea have made in recent times.
The England international has rightly been praised left right and centre, but Hoddle has claimed Palmer isn’t appreciated as much as he should be.
“They’re back in the game, what a finish,” Hoddle told TNT Sports on commentary.
“How easy does that look, but it’s not easy; the balance to hit it first time and just pass it into the corner, a wonderful goal.
“Wonderful player, and I agree with Joe, he’s a must for England, build the team around him.
“We’ve got some wonderful players, Foden, Eze, Palmer, amazing talents.
“If other countries had all these talents, we’d be admiring them even more.”
Chelsea attack to fire against Man United?
After the setback against Bayern, Chelsea will be looking to respond with three points against Man United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The Blues haven’t won at Old Trafford since 2013, and will be desperate to bring their poor record at the famous ground to an end.
Palmer, who was a United fan when he was growing up will need to be at his best again if Chelsea are going to get a result, and the likes of Estevao, Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho will all need to step up.
