Plans surrounding the conduct of business on Thursday, September 18, 2025, have been reviewed.
It was earlier announced that banks and all shops should close down on the final day of the four-day burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa.
However, Baffour Kantankrankyi, the chief linguist of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, announced at the end of Wednesday’s gathering that everyone can go about their business the next day.
This privilege excludes market traders, he noted.
“All markets must close tomorrow. The markets belong to Nanahemaa and she lying in state. But transport Service providers and everyone else can proceed with their work.”
Baffour furthered that the workers must return home before 9 pm.
“The remains of the Queen would be moved out at 9 pm. It is at this time we don’t wish to meet or see anyone outside.”
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has issued a directive to essential service providers who will be working tomorrow.
Below are the directives:
1. Identification and Uniforms:
All essential government workers must wear their official service uniforms and carry Valid Identification Cards.
2. Use of Official Vehicles:
As much as practicable, essential government workers should commute to and from their duty stations in official government vehicles.
3. Compliance with Movement Restrictions:
All exempted institutions and essential workers are advised to cooperate fully with security personnel and other regulatory agencies enforcing the movement restrictions.
