A Scots Love Island star has come under fire after appearing to use the tragic death of boxing legend Ricky Hatton to promote his own business ventures. Anton Danyluk , who appeared on both series five and the first season of the All Stars edition of the ITV2 reality dating show, shared a series of controversial snaps on his Instagram account. The first photo had the text “Ricky Hatton’s death hit me hard. Life isn’t always what it seems,” wrote over it. The former Love Islander has his own personal training business, in which he uses his Instagram account to promote his services as both an in person and online coach. Although it seems this post went too far, as fans slammed the star in the comments. Alongside photos of himself and the late boxer, Anton seemed to use the tragedy as a way to promote his services and encourage people to sign up for his personal training. In the now-deleted post, Anton wrote: “Ricky’s passing really reminded me why I started this. Too many of us feel like we’re struggling on our own – but you don’t have to. That’s why I built my free community.” Anton went on to list a series of benefits for those who signed up to his coaching platform, something which the personal trainer has done in many of his previous promotional posts. The bullet points included six offers which stated: “A supportive space where you can open up without judgement,” and “daily tasks set by me to help you become the best version of yourself.” As well as: “Free guides packed with tips on fitness, nutrition and mindset” and “Weekly prizes to keep things fun and motivating.” The final two bullet points read: “A weekly community call where we connect and support each other,” and “Exclusive discounts on my coaching packages.” The star finished his post by saying the “best part” of his plan was that it is “completely free.” Before the post was deleted, his followers were quick to take to the comment section as many outraged that Anton was attempting to ‘exploit Hatton’s death for self-promotion.’ One person commented: “This is soooooo sad using his death to promote, have a word with yourself and have some respect…” As another wrote: “Shocking using someone’s death too promote your business.” A third follower shared their disappointment in Anton, saying they were ‘once a fan’, as they penned: “Using someone’s death to promote business is not it bro. I was a fan of yours for sure, and I hated all the stupid comments on your posts… but now I’m starting to see their side sadly.” Others urged his management to have a word with him, with a forth commenting reading: “Someone in your team needs to start intervening before you post because you really do scrape the moral barrel with some of your content. If you aren’t click baiting photos of your ex’s you’re now using somebody’s death for content.” Join the Daily Record’s WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.
