Lanny Wadkins Blasts European Players As ‘Bunch Of Wusses’ After Pointing Out Ryder Cup Bias

LMAO … tell us how you really feel, Lanny.

Starting almost instantly after the announcement a few years ago that the 2025 edition of the Ryder Cup would be hosted at New York’s Bethpage Black, discussions have mainly been about the prospect of unruly fans and how it might benefit Team USA.

When it comes to New Yorkers and sports, all American fans are quite knowledgeable regarding their reputation. So when you mix that in with a Ryder Cup event that could feature over 50,000 fans, and there’s only a few matches going on at one time, yeah, we could definitely be looking at a popcorn-fest.

At this point, it’s almost like we just assume that there’s going to be something that happens, somebody who pops off. Whether it’s a fan or a European golfer themselves, or both, we just know that we’re going to get some entertainment. What’s funny, however, is the fact that when Americans are going over to Europe for the Ryder Cup, we don’t hear anything out of the press about European fans getting disrespectful or just being an outright moron. And as Americans, when have we ever been worried about what European fans are going to do to our players? And talking about it for months?

It’s laughable, but don’t take it from me. Just ask former 1995 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Lanny Wadkins, who recently spoke on Golf Channel about this exact situation. And he didn’t hold back.

“I always find it very interesting that we never say a word about what happens to us when we’re playing in Europe. I know I’ve been on the first tee as far back as 1985, I got introduced and had the entire grandstands boo me,” said Wadkins, per OutKick.

“I mean, we’ve got the same treatment over there. We just never complained about it. Sometimes I think the Europeans are just a bunch of wusses and can’t handle the heat.”

Lanny Wadkins has sparked a Ryder Cup controversy by claiming some Europeans are simply weak and unable to handle hostile crowds. https://t.co/Ui6BXKOLsh — Irish Star US (@IrishStarUS) September 18, 2025

Tell me where he was wrong.
