Many of us have a wish list saved in the notes app of our phones that we’d love to treat ourselves to one day, and as it turns out, so does Joanna Cooper.
The model-turned-businesswoman is a self-confessed ‘reformed impulse buyer’ and recently spoke about the most expensive item she’s splurged on.
Joanna has no regrets about the €7,200 buy she treated herself to in 2024 to mark a special milestone, her 30th birthday.
‘I invested in a Bulgari Serpenti watch for my 30th birthday last year, which cost €7,200,’ Joanna revealed to the Business Post.
She added: ‘The watch had a firm place on my notes app wish list for a long time, so I know it was worth every penny. Every time I wear it, I’m filled with pride because it was a special self-investment.’
The Bulgari Serpenti watch is an instantly recognisable piece that is part watch and part bracelet with an iconic spiral design that wraps around the wrist like a snake.
Bulgari’s website describes it as: ‘Merging two of the most iconic symbols of Bvlgari design, the Serpenti Tubogas watch coils the sinuosity of the snake with the contemporary soul of tubogas.’
The silver version with a black opaline dial, which Joanna appears to have, costs €7,200 currently online, but other variations in rose gold and black with dainty diamonds can cost as much as €43,000.
Joanna is also the proud owner and wearer of a Rolex Datejust, which costs around €11,850, and is often seen in her Instagram snaps.
Talking further about her spending habits, Joanna admitted she’s ‘a spender at heart’ and that not touching her savings account ‘does test’ her self-control (hard relate, Joanna!)
As for whether she has any shopping regrets, Joanna said there’s one thing that she’s always ended up ‘regretting’ splurging on – designer sunglasses.
Joanna said: ‘I regret every single pair of designer sunglasses I’ve bought because, invariably, I have lost them all.’
Joanna’s comments come as she and her husband Conor Murray adjust to their new normal with their son after Conor retired from playing rugby.
