West Bromwich shoppers celebrated the return of their town’s beloved indoor market with a ceremony packed with local dignitaries.

The ceremony on Wednesday (September 10) marked the official opening of the new West Bromwich Indoor Market. Scores of shoppers had already got a taste at a ‘soft launch’ event last month.

Now the doors have officially been opened, with influencers, dignitaries, shoppers and the families of stallholders invited to a special VIP event.

The new venue, well-lit and fantastically decorated, certainly impressed the shopping public.

“It’s great in here. I think it’s brilliant,” said Kalli Ram, from West Bromwich, “It’s in a really good location. It’s good to see so many people coming in. It’s much better than the last location.”

The new market replaced the previous indoor facility in Kings Square, with many traders moving across to the new venue to continue their business.

Amarjit Sindhu, owner of A.S. Textiles, moved after serving at the previous location for years. She told the Express & Star: “It’s really good in here. It’s much nicer.
