The ultra-luxury villa of a nefarious character on “The White Lotus” could be your next vacation spot.
HBO Max’s Emmy award-winning drama chronicles the dark underbelly of luxury resort culture — but this palatial rental is all open skies and sparkling infinity pools.
Villa Amaravida, now available as a Thai vacation rental, served as the hideaway of one of the show’s rare recurring characters, Greg Hunt.
Greg, played by Jon Gries, was introduced to viewers back in season 1 as the down-to-Earth government employee vacationing in Hawaii. Season 3 finds the much-changed, much wealthier Greg hiding out from American authorities in the tropical hills of Thailand.
Villa Amaravida, located in Phuket’s exclusive Cape Yamu enclave, was the larger of two villas used as the backdrop for Greg’s massive home. Tense scenes saw Greg researching resort employee Belinda in his airy, timber-roofed living room, and swimming in the spacious lap pool — one of three pools on the property.
The other shooting location for Greg’s abode, a modernist hilltop retreat near Koh Samui’s Chaweng Beach, is also available to rent on Airbnb.
Feroz Taj, of the Agency Beverly Hills, has taken charge of marketing Villa Amaravida. Anyone staying at the villa will need “White Lotus”-level wealth. Rates for the eight-bedroom getaway range from $5,700 to $13,650 per night, according to marketing materials.
The grand vacation home is situated on a beachfront plot spanning more than 86,000 square feet. The villa itself spans more than 43,000 square feet between its indoor and outdoor spaces. Its glassy walls boast panoramic views of the famous Phang Nga Bay.
Villa Amaravida bares all the hallmarks of wealth that takes center stage in “The White Lotus,” from a full tennis court to a full staff of seven employees — including a private chef.
The breezy interiors, which the rental touts as “intrinsically Scandinavian,” leaves plenty of room for entertaining. Indoor amenities include a cinema, a professional gym and spa and, according to the listing, a “funky little wine-cellar room.”
But it’s the exteriors that truly make this home worthy of its major “White Lotus” cameo. Vacationers at Villa Amaravida can play tennis and basketball on the private courts by day and party on the 16-person rooftop bar by night.
Three pools are spread across three levels – a long infinity pool, a rooftop pool and a lawn pool.
Before you book that Thai Airways thicket, however, there are a few caveats. Villa Amaravida requires a minimum stay of three nights, and even longer around the holidays like Christmas and Chinese New Year. Weddings and events are not permitted, either, so you’ll need to plan your “White Lotus”-themed murder mystery bash elsewhere.
