Article contentPEMBROKE CHAIR YOGA: The City of Pembroke is helping you stay active this fall by offering two sessions of chair yoga. Each class will take place Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Each session is six weeks long and costs $25+HST per session (non-resident fees apply). The first session will start on Oct. 1st and run until Nov. 5th. The second session will start on Nov. 12th and run until Dec. 17th. Chair yoga will be led by instructors from White Pine Yoga and held in the activity room at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (393 Pembroke Street West). Preregistration is required, spaces are limited. Register online at Pembroke.ca/Booking and select Chair Yoga. You will need to create an account and select which session you want to be included in. Or register by calling 613-735-6821 ext.1501 or by visiting the Parks and Recreation office at the Pembroke Memorial Centre. Chair yoga is designed to be inclusive for all skill and mobility levels. All movements are done while seated in a chair and are gentle and safe. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join!

The canteen is now being operated by Reiche Meat Products serving breakfast and lunch featuring their local meat. We also have gluten free and sour dough baking, local meats, honey, maple syrup, ice cream, eggs, yogurt, cheese curds, flowers, one-of-a-kind crafters and more. Article contentCLIMATE MATTERS EVENT: A community gathering featuring speakers and social time will take place on Saturday, September 20, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Tourist Info Booth parking lot in Eganville, with a street presence including placards, bells, and banners. At noon, speakers will present at the Gerald Tracy Park amphitheatre, or at the Gazebo if it rains. Saturday, Oct. 18 ALGONQUIN TRAIL RACE 2025: Come and join us for a beautiful trail run on the Algonquin Trail through the picturesque town of Petawawa. All races start on the Algonquin Trail across from Kelsey’s Restaurant. The 3.2km Munchkin Run winds through Kiddyland Park up to Doran Road then returns to the start line. The 5km and 10km trail races head west on the Algonquin Trail, crossing the mighty Petawawa River. The 5km race turns right at Paquette Road and circles back along the paved path, rejoining the Algonquin Trail at Portage Road for the return trip to the start line. The 10km race turns left at Paquette Road and follows the ATV trail to Highway 17 and into a wooded trail along the highway where it turns around and retraces its path back to the start line. Medals for top three finishers in each category will be awarded at the Kinhut at noon. Adult racers of the 5km and 10km races get a complimentary Dog House Brewery beer glass and a complimentary Dog House Brewery beer at the Kinhut after the race.
