Barely 48 hours to the long awaited 2025 Mr and Miss Central Region bodybuilding championship, the event has continued to garner steam.
Different bodybuilders have expressed their determination and readiness for the championship that will take place on Saturday, 20th September at the UMA show grounds Lugogo, Kampala.
Over 50 bodybuilders are expected to take in this glamorous event with six weight categories of competition action.
These categories include bantam, Welter, Lightweight, Middle, Light heavy and heavy weight respectively.
Addressing the media at Mamerito Hotel in Bweyogerere, several body builders showcased well built muscles and vowed to stage brave performances.
“I have been training well and more than ready to rumble come Saturday” Martins Bagulli, a middle weight body builder remarked.
Bantam weight Pharooq Miyagi is equaled charged up for the championship whose top performers will qualify for the Mr Uganda contest.
“The focus and attention is to perform well with the key objective of qualifying for the Mr Uganda championship. I cannot wait for the event on Saturday” Miyagi attested.
Dreadlocked Nelson Conrad Masagazi who will compete in the physical category anticipates good competition.
“I expect a high level of competition because all of us have been preparing well. It will be a great championship with healthy competition” Masagazi anticipates.
The event organizers Supplex Gym have set the bar high with top notch organization that also includes an arm-wrestling competition as well as men’s physique, women bikini, Persons With Disabilities (PWD) category and fitness categories with action expected to start by noon.
“We urge the fans to come in early. Gates will open by 10 am ahead of the noon start time. There are good prizes including cash with different categories also catered for” Denis Trinity Kisakye, organizer.
This championship is specially dedicated to the fallen body builder Axam Kisekka who died on 16th May 2025.
Kenneth Sekilanda, a celebrated coach believes the body builders will showcase the best performances on the day.
“Body building is growing day by day. We expect a great championship since all the bodybuilders have really prepared well” Sekilanda, also a powerlifting specialist remarked.
The Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) will also perform including the little people.
The winner of the coveted title wins a grand prize of 10 million Uganda shillings.
