Abercrombie & Fitch returns to St. Louis

Abercrombie & Fitch is now open at the Plaza Frontenac mall, taking over the space where the shopping center’s movie theater previously operated.
The Frontenac store, at 1701 South Lindbergh Boulevard, becomes the contemporary clothing company’s sole St. Louis-area location. It is located on the mall’s second floor near the Saks Fifth Avenue store. The Ohio-based chain is targeted to young adults.
Previously, Plaza Frontenac’s movie theater occupied that space, but the six-screen cinema closed in February. It had been a regular host for screenings during the annual St. Louis International Film Festival.
Last year, Plaza Frontenac’s owner, Brookfield Properties, sued the movie theatre’s owner, Los Angeles-based Landmark, claiming it owed Brookfield $274,000 in back rent.
